In response to Don's question below. The 1st Place winner in last year's Parade's High School Marching Unit was New York's Xavier High School.
Not surprising, since they are a Junior ROTC School. Considering the competition I think we did darn good with 2nd Place

Association President Chick Pisani,Parade Chairman-Mike Kelly,Secretary John Torres,Terry McAdams, Vic Kaplan and myself, with members of our families, attended the St. Patrick's Day Parade's Grand Marshall's installation yesterday. It was a wonderfully joyous and festive affair.
Tommy Smyth, this year's Grand Marshall, is a superb choice. His acceptance speech filled with wry Irish humor, was touchingly appreciative of the gifts he has received as well as movingly patriotic.
The Association was presented with a plaque as winners of 2nd place as Best High School Marching Unit in last years parade.
Lets try for 1st this year.

Trying to answer Bob's inquiry from below, I know someone posted an entry about making replacements for our graduation rings. I still have mine and wear it to all PMA functions. So I started going back in history page by page in this Guest Book. If you have never done it before, when you scroll down to the bottom of these pages you can go further back in time for some very interesting (and sometimes sad) Guest Book entries.

With St. Patrick's Day coming soon, I noticed this one in particular on page 6. Bob Kilgore from the class of '60 brought back some very pleasant memories that we should all experience. From my entry back in February of 2005:

Sometimes our Parade, Party and Mass committees get a little down in the dumps and frustrated with all the work preparing for the events surrounding the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Then a streak of bright sunshine comes from Heaven and we receive a private e-mail that perks us up. Bob Kilgore, PMA '60, sent us a note that reluctantly he would not be able to make the parade this year but was looking forward to 2006 (the 75th Anniversary of PMA's opening). A part of Bob's thoughtful note:
".you have represented the school in a very positive light. When coming back along Fifth Ave. a lot of people commented to me how great we looked and asked about what Power was. Other people who knew of Power just applauded. IT WAS A GREAT MOMENT!"

11 February 2005 - NY
22 February 2008 - Fifth Avenue on March 17th

Webmaster comments   About 200 alumni marched in that parade - let's try for 250 in 2008 !

The Annual Remembrance Mass on March 15 will be paying a special tribute to Thomas Brady, the PMA Student that was murdered by a deranged gunman just days before St. Patrick's Day in 1948.

Has any alumnus stayed in touch with Tom's family? Are there any Brady Family survivors?

In 2002 or 2003 one alumnus sent me a photo of Tom's gravesite and headstone. I've still got the picture but lost track of the e-mail that he sent me. Does this jog anyone's memory?

Please contact me at the above e-mail address if you have any information concerning the Brady Family.

You never know where or when.On a beach in CANCUN,this Thanksgiving was approached by a man who asked if the the POWER on my T-Shirt was "THE PMA." He knew school by reputation but had heard it closed. Confirmed the school closed but Alumni Assoc lives on. We chatted a bit, he attended a Public School in White Plains. His parting comment was too bad about the closing, POWER was a Great School & with some of the best Sports teams. Then added, it must have been special place, where else would you have an Alumni Assoc representing a school that no longer exists. Told him you had to be there to realy understand.
Best wishes for the Holidays.
